Tour Our Golf Course

Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club is very fortunate to own two of the premier golf courses in the Southwest United States – Alto Lakes Golf Course and The Outlaw Golf Course.  Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club is one of the premier golf destinations in the Southwest and one of the best values in golf anywhere in the world.

Alto Lakes Golf Course’s front nine was built in 1966 when the club was founded and the back nine was completed a couple of years later.  The front nine is a friendly nine, predominantly up on the mesa.  The back nine is more mountainous in terrain and is one of the toughest nine holes in the state.  Alto’s playing surfaces are Bent Grass on the greens, with Kentucky Bluegrass on the fairways and rough.

The Outlaw course was built in 2008 and acquired by Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club in 2011.  Designed by John LaFoy of South Carolina, it is quickly assuming its place as one of the finest and most scenic golf courses in the entire Southwest.  Outlaw’s playing surfaces are A-1/A-4 Bent Grass greens and tees, with Kentucky Bluegrass fairways and roughs.  The native area at The Outlaw is made up of the native grasses of New Mexico.

Both locations offer complete professional amenities one would expect, and both open for year-round play (weather permitting).  Golf members enjoy the driving ranges, golf shops, professional instruction, a complete tournament program run by the respective associations; along with the spectacular vistas and cool summer weather for which this area is known.

Alto Golf Associations include the Alto Men’s Golf Association, the Alto Ladies’ Golf Association, and Alto Ladies’ 9 Hole Golf Association.

Please call The Outlaw pro shop at 575-336-3150 for tee times or questions concerning the golf course.
